In March 2010 Bhatt travelled to New York to see Gil Scott-Heron perform at the Bluenote where he met Glen ‘Astro’ Turner (a member of Gil’s band) who provided him with the invaluable opportunity to draw and paint Gil and his band during their UK concerts in 2010.

Akash Bhatt is this year’s 1st prize winner of the London Lives competition.
His painting Life will be on Blackfriars bridge for the next 12 months.
